"Rebuilding the hope of women means building the hope of an entire nation."

To improve maternal and child health on Idjwi Island in Kivu, MMS is committed at several levels: training of midwives, obstetric nurses and community health workers, promotion of women's rights, awareness-raising on sexual and reproductive health, family planning activities, pre- and postnatal monitoring of pregnant women, prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV, vaccination campaigns, prevention and treatment of malaria, malnutrition…

As true pillars of development, midwives follow the curriculum based on the competencies of global standards.

The WHO estimates that the presence of quality midwives reduces maternal and neonatal mortality and stillbirth rates by more than 80%, and premature births by 24%.
